We had a lovely Christmas week, with lots of festive fun!

The boys should be very proud of their first term at Lochinver House. They have made new friends, started to write, recognise and work with numbers, attended assemblies and so much more. Enjoy your Christmas break and we will see you in the New year.

When we return our weekly challenge will be ‘zip your coat up independently’, please practise this over the holidays.

We have been learning about weighing this week. For the Maths homework, set up a post office with different objects/parcels (junk modelling boxes). With balancing scales, measure the weight of the objects (or use your hands to judge). Encourage the boys to use vocabulary such as, heavy, light, heavier, lighter.

We are so very proud of the boys’ Christmas show! The boys sang beautifully, remembered the words and sat smartly throughout. Well done to our little performers.

We listened to The Snowman and discussed positional language. The boys wrote about where the snowman travelled to, they used their best writing.

For the Maths homework activity, could you please use your laminated number cards to pick a number, write it down and then write 1 less. For a challenge to extend this further you can use laminated 100 square.

Thank you Ms Weinberg, Ms John and Ms De Wolfe for teaching us about Hanukkah on Monday, we enjoyed the games and learning how Hanukkah is celebrated.

During Phonics we have started to learn digraphs (2 letters that make 1 sound). We have also been working on writing capital letters.
