Have a Wonderful Easter
During Maths this week we looked at different patterns, including symmetrical patterns. The boys enjoyed making their own patterns.
We listened to the Easter story and learnt about Spring Equinox. We sequenced and labelled pictures from the story.
Miss Barr and I have thoroughly enjoyed having all the boys back at school. They have quickly adapted back to school life and we are very proud of them all. We hope you all have a lovely Easter and we look forward to seeing you very soon for the new summer term!
Thank you for the lovely Easter gifts.

We will start our weekly challenge the following week.
Money
Could you please set up a shop at home (if you have a toy till, you could use this) and buy some items such as sweets that cost less than £1 or 50p. Use a range of coins and practise counting in ones, twos and tens. Have fun!
Jack and the Beanstalk
We went on a spring hunt during Welly Time this week and found some buds and flowers appearing, a few insects and blossom on the trees.
We listened to the traditional tale ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and cut out pictures from the story and ordered them to sequence the story. The boys were very good at remembering the key events and phrases! We also played a Jack and the Beanstalk game.
During our Maths lessons we looked at the different values of coins and added a variety of amounts together by counting in 1’s, 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.
During circle time, we talked about our feelings and what makes a good friend. We made our own ‘friend’ by drawing around someone and writing what makes a kind friend.

Weekly challenge: Put your hand up on the carpet.
What’s the Time?
For this weeks Maths challenge, please draw some clocks with numbers 1-12. Please then add a minute hand and a hour hand to display different o’clock times. We have been drawing the hands in class and the boys have learnt that the hour hand is shorter than the minute hand and that both hands need to start from the middle and be drawn in a straight line. As an extension, please draw some half past times. Please write the times you made by commenting on this post. Have fun!
Happy to be back!
It has been lovely to have all the boys back in school this week and like always, we have been very busy!
We have been playing lots of games and during circle time, we have discussed the different feelings we might be experiencing.
We started learning about time this week, focussing on o’clock and half past. We discussed the different times in the day and night and looked at the minute and hour hand.
During Welly Time, we enjoyed the sunshine and played some tennis.
On Wednesday we had a lovely treat, authors of Supertato Paul Linnet and Sue Hendra read us a story and answered lots of questions!
It was a very windy day on Thursday so we made some kites!
