We think maths is fun!! We have been playing lots of number recognition and counting games. During the games we have also been practising turn taking and sharing.

Our Lochinver Cursive Script letters are starting to look fantastic. The boys have been very proud of their efforts and I have been impressed with their homework.

The boys have enjoyed what our afternoon sessions have to offer, including our specialist Music, Drama and PE lessons with Mrs Lund, Miss Attz and Mr Evans. Each afternoon they have been able to visit the outside area within their ‘Explore and Learn’ time.

Our theme for show and tell is ‘All About Me’ Please bring in your favourite toy or an item related to your favourite pastime. Our starboys will be:

We have been very busy this week, starting phonic and maths lessons. All of the boys have shown perseverance as we have begun forming letters using the cursive script. Some boys have even started to use their phonic knowledge to write words.

In maths we have focused on number and started to practise forming our numbers correctly, remembering to start at the top for each number.

This week we have been learning about our 5 different senses, the boys explored the senses table which included different objects to smell, touch and look at. Some of the boys enjoyed using the clipboards to draw and label the objects.

‘Star boy’ starts on Monday, we can’t wait to see some of your favourite toys and hear all about them.

Welcome to RGC’s blog. We had a great start to Reception, the boys have been settling in well and it has been a pleasure to see their smiley faces in the morning.

This week we have been exploring the classroom and getting to know each other through fun games and circle time. The boys have been enjoying the Lochinver lunches and have been learning our Golden rules. We have been doing lots of talking about ourselves, including our family and feelings.

We are very much looking forward to a new and exciting term ahead.
