Wow we have been busy!

The boys have had a very fun filled couple of weeks, with lots of events and visitors coming to see us and learning all about subtraction.

The boys have  been working so hard with their number work and are taking their first steps into understanding subtraction. It is a very tricky area of mathematics but they boys have done so well and are now beginning to write and solve subtraction sums either by themselves or with a little support! Well done Reception Ash!

We have also had World Book Day. The boys had a fun filled day where we had lots of adults and older boys come and spend time with us. First we had a visit from one Mrs Ozer who is an author. She spoke to the boys about her love of literature and why she wanted to be an author. Mrs Ozer also shared one of her stories with the boys and even brought along a large lion friend!

We also had some of the older Lochinver boys come to visit us and helped us to write down some of our stories and ideas that we could use in our class book. It was lovely to watch the boys working so well together and enjoy sharing their ideas with others.

The boys also had visits from Mrs Hillcoat, Mr Gascoigne and Mr Barth, who all came to read us stories. We had a lot of fun on World Book Day and can’t wait till next year!

We also had another visit from Perform Drama who came to see us in the Autumn Term. This time the activities were focussed around animals in the jungle. The boys pretended to be all different kinds of animals and worked well together to act out different scenarios.

Finally on Tuesday we had a visit from Mrs Demetriou and her dog Cally. Mrs Demetriou told the boys all about how Cally is a PAT (pets as therapy) dog. She visits people who have had strokes and helps with their recovery. The boys all enjoyed asking questions about Cally and her important job .

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend
